As part of The Daily Show on ACR Aljaž presents the Balkan Express!
Balkan Express takes weekly trips into contemporary musical production of, you guessed it, the Balkans. Forget the gusle and tamburice, this show is about rock, pop and a sense of humour. Well, at least there's guitars. Usually. Your train conductor is Aljaž (aka @pengovsky) who once did the world a solid and decided never to sing again in public. Which is why he ended up doing radio.
Fed Horses are, primarily, Urša and Jure Mihevc, whose on- and off-stage partnership is the driving force of the whole thing. Over the years, the band’s additional lineup stabilized around guitarist Andraž Mazi, bass player Matej Tekavčič and drummer Enos Kugler. Check them out on Balkan Express on Ara City Radio.
While Swifties and most of the music industry wait for Taylor to finally hit the top spots on European charts, Benson Boone shows no signs of tiring. And neither do Artemas. And between them they rule six different music charts. And will continue to do so for some time, probably.
Štrajk Mozga are frontman Aleksandar Nikčević, bass guitarist Dušan Mijušković, guitarist Dušan Dobrilović and drummer Novica Stanišić. And if media reports are to be believed, this Montenegrin band is already hard at work on their second album. Check them out in this week’s Balkan Express.
This week on Ara City Radio we have sixteen new tracks topping nineteen separate European charts. And we bring them all together here, on Top of the EU Pops.
If you thought nepo-babies are a recent invention then you haven’t heard about Deca Loših Muzičara, a tongue-in-cheek Serbian funk-rock band. They’ve been around since late ‘80s (more or less) and their tunes are still fun.
Get the latest movements and the freshest of tracks from all across the EU. Be it Marina Satti, Niet, Benson Boonem, Top of the EU Pops on Ara City Radio, brings you the latest - if not necessarily the greatest - in European music choices.
Bad Daughter is a Croatian indie-pop artist who entered the scene about three years ago and immediately changed the landscape of urban music in the country. For the better, obviously. Her debutante album pocketed a porin, the Croatian music industry award and won praise by fans and critics alike.
Teddy Swims, Joost and Benson Boone provided a triple-double this week on Top of the EU Pops on Ara City Radio. To be precise, Boone’s Beautiful Things tops the charts in three different countries, but… details, right? Other notable entries this week include Carly Wilford, Dillaz and Gonzy.
