How it all began.....

Ara City Radio was started in 2000 by a group of English speaking friends who shared a passion for music and radio. They found a partner in the alternative radio station Radio Ara and rented the 6am-2pm, Monday to Friday airtime on their radio network. The rest is, as they say, history…

Transient as Luxembourg is, a number of the group have moved on to sunnier climes. However, their passion and enthusiasm has been passed on to those left behind.

Who we are...

We are a small, flexible and professional group of individuals who believe in the continued power of radio in this multi-media age.

There are the obvious team members who sit behind the mike each day bringing you the latest music and news from Luxembourg, but did you know that each of these voices has an active role in the behind-the- scenes success of the station? For example, Ben Andrews is Production Manager and responsible for the majority of advertising spots that we air. There are a number of behind-the-scenes artists whose services remain vital to the success of the station. Office administration and general organisation is in the capable hands of Lorraine Hegarty.

Last, but certainly not least, is the man who knows the man to know; Germain is the other Luxembourg Bridge. With one foot in the Radio Ara camp and one in the Ara City camp, he bridges the gap between the two organisations. He is the cultural knowledge that all ex-patriots need, he is the technical brain and screw-driver behind the scenes, who has seen it all before and will ensure no-one panics in times of stress, yet will create a panic whenever he feels it is necessary to get things done.
