Sam Steen

Born in the music mines deep below Ara City Towers sometime in the 1980's, Sam enjoyed a normal childhood toiling in the mines, excavating cassette tapes, vinyl records and later CD's. However as he grew older he became tired of digging the discs from the earth and never getting to listen to the music within them... And so in 2004 he successfully led the Music Miners Rebellion against the Surface Dwelling DJ's and freed his people. But like so many of the emancipated miners, he found it difficult to adapt to life on the surface, and so in 2009 he returned to Ara City Radio as an intern. Now though because he's cheap and available, Sam is back, not as a lowly music miner or as an intern, but as an equal....

Sam presents the Big Brunch between 9am and 11am, Monday to Friday, bringing you the best in new and classic pop and rock music from around the world, showcasing music from his native Ireland (he may have lied about the mines) and his adopted Luxembourg, along with competitions, news, reviews, interviews and lots of laughs to keep you going till lunch..

Ben Andrews
A very young ben andrews spinning the discs

Ben has been with ARA City Radio on and off since it first began in 2000 and initially hosted the Brunchtime Show between 10am and 2pm. In 2001, he decided to move to London and follow a Bachelor’s Degree in Film. However, he did not cut his ties with the station completely, providing cover for the other DJs whenever he was back on holiday in Luxembourg. At completing his degree in 2004 there was a six month gap before Ben was due to begin his MA in Film Art and Production in Sydney, Australia.

This time gap allowed Ben to rejoin ARA City, this time co-hosting the breakfast show with Simon Gibbons until the end of 2004. After completing his studies Down Under in 2006, Ben decided on a move back to Luxembourg in a bid to get funding for his film scripts through the Luxembourg Film Fund. This is an ongoing process and one that enabled him to rejoin ARA City on a permanent basis at the beginning of 2007 as lunchtime DJ and head of production. He continues to balance his radio and film work during the week, whilst holding a residency on Friday nights at The Tube in addition to various other DJ work. Mark Weedon
Mark Weedon joined the team in 2008 as the station’s news presenter.

On completing his degree in French and German at Oxford University, Mark wandered over to the Career’s Office to hear what they suggested he do next. “Owff to the City with you young man… option trading that’s the thing …”.. So owff he went and spent many happy years arranging deals and launching products – the price of which often went down as well as down.

Sensing the time was right for a change of direction Mark has opted instead for a regime of very early starts to bring you all the latest stories from around the world and around the corner.
Rosa Moreno Minimize

Ara City Radio's local business news reporter was born in the exotic Jersey City. Rosa is 100% American by birth and 100% Cuban at heart.

Growing up in the suburb of New York City, Rosita was exposed to many influences including her dad's love for politics and news. Once in college, it was clear that political science was the topic, broadcast journalism the vehicle.

After several years bouncing around numerous newsrooms across America and England, Rosa finally ended up in the Swiss city of Geneva. Here she organized television news events like the G8 and EU summits along with a number of breaking news stories.

During one of these events in the French town of Deauville she met a smooth talking Luxembourgish satellite engineer who whisked Rosa off once again to settle in the magnificent Luxembourg.

Today
Rosa is a freelance news producer and radio presenter.
